Teen Reading Lounge (TRL) is a year round collaborative and informal program developed as an educational and recreational resource for young adults.
The award-winning program was developed through the Pennsylvania Humanities Council to promote the humanities and empower teens to think critically, grow, and engage in their communities. A teen-driven program, TRL is designed to engage teens (ages 12 to 18) in the exploration of the humanities through the reading and discussion of popular young adult literature and creative hands-on or other experiential activities that complement the readings.
Past book selections include: The Hunger Games, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Sherlock Homes and activities including: Outdoor Survival Skills Presentation, Mystery Dinner Theatre and a visit to Enter the Imaginarium Escape Room.
Meetings are usually on a Saturday for 2 hours, roughly once a month.
